The following steps should be run after initial installation, on a UnixWare 7 machine
- Install gzip, tcl, tk, xdir, glib, xhtml from Skunkware CD
- Setup root as a ksh user with command history recall
- Set ULIMIT and UMASK in /etc/profile
- Remove root from restricted users list on ftp
- Allow root to login when not on console
- Slice remaining disk if needed using slice tool
- Copy /var/adm/bin directory from gemini
- Copy any /usr/local/bin that isnt already in place
- Add /usr/local/bin to all users paths
- Add /var/adm/bin to all users path
- Add /usr/X/bin to all users paths
- Setup /var/adm/bin/rmsavedirs.sh script and run from cron on Sunday's at 6am
- Setup /var/adm/bin/syslog_checker.sh syslog size checker and run from cron Sunday's at 1:30am
- Setup /var/adm/bin/backup1.sh and /var/adm/bin/backup2.sh backup scripts
- Setup /var/logs for mail and log archives
- Setup /etc/init.d scripts and the /etc/rc script links that go with them
- Disable ARCServe and Vision tools
- Setup FacetWin into /usr/local/facetwin
- Setup hosts file configuration tool in /var/adm/bin
- Setup rhosts files for r-commands to work
- Setup PPP
- Setup SMTP for smart mail host and hosts first resolution order (service.switch)
- Setup dfmon.sh for disk monitoring - on bad condition mail to problems@edumet.com
- Add any patches to make current
- If cobol machine, setup scrn01 control record
- If cobol machine, configure all edumet.* scripts if not already done
- If cobol, run the spool_setup.sh from the edumet directory to setup edumet's spooler
- Do full system backup and emergency diskettes
